Here are a few of our more recent efforts. Any comments or suggestions on improving or techniques to try are greatly appreciated. Except for 4 and 6, the exteriors are done with underglaze. I am having a hard time keeping the rim colour from running when it is fired. The worst is on the right edge of number 6.

I wouldn't worry about the running, it just adds to the handmade charm.

Thanks for the encouragement. There are times when I will intentionally be loose as in number 3, but I would like to know (or have a strategy) for maintaining clean rims. I did apply the rim colour on a banding wheel, so it looked pretty good before firing.
I guess I should mention that we use an electric kiln in case that makes a difference to tips. As well, all the glazes above are cone 06, though we do like to use some cone 6 glazes for their oxidation properties.

Thanks for the kind feedback, everyone. If there are any tips or suggestions on how to improve, I promise I have thick skin.

Please don't make huge efforts to clean line the rims. They'd look dangerously mass produced!
I love them all, but would buy #6, I love the colour contrast and the wavy rim is absolutely part of its charm. Without it it may look too clinically 'right'.
Pretty things

Love 2, 4 & 6, and they're just right as they are. Like the others have said, too clean suggests mass production, and anyway, I like a bit of occasional smudginess.

They are all lovely. I think when you are making something and keep looking at it over and over, you see every little thing that in the end you feel pokes you in the eye,:mummy: ........... no one else really notices, or even cares, because as others have said that's what makes it individual and beautiful.
