I've been asked to make some Goth ribbon chockers, what should I use as connectors on the ends ??

You need clamps (http://www.beadaddict.com/uk/finding5.htm) - scroll to the bottom of the page :D

And there are things called folding necklace ends you can get from international craft.
You just place the ribbon in the end and fold over the flaps holding it in place.

I make my own ribbon necklaces. I make a tiny fold at each end and sew it shut with a simple running stitch, then thread a jump ring through the loop and you can add any fastening you want. It is not as fiddly as it sounds - easy to do once you get going, and you can sit in the evening and do it in front of the telly.
