Does anyone else find it really difficult making seasonal pieces? I always find I end up making jewellery that doesn't stick to my usual aesthetic and that are less original. Especially at Christmas. I've started working on a Valentine's collection this week but am running out of ideas as I am trying to keep them slightly alternative as is my usual style.

Yes! I've just launched a Valentine's range on my jewellery site and I'm not sure it fits in with the ethos of my jewellery, but I suppose it's good to try something new and see if people like it.
I read a good article on Valentine's jewellery that suggests lockets are coming back - and variations thereof - where the buyer can get you to put in a special note to the locket.
I really like you jewellery by the way Raffles - it's really unique!

Yes I'm not bothering to do a range for myself that's aimed towards Valentine's. I have aimed a bit in my site towards ideas for partners to buy as a present and working on that at the minute. It just comes and goes so I don't see the point for me. I have done a small collection for somebody else though to fit in with it, but all i have done is add heart buttons which are not necessarily just for Valentines. It will be the same for Easter, i will probably use some yellow fabrics or something but not make a specific egg shaped bag!!x

So I've been working on alternative valentines day cards. I've only made 5 so far, they've proved very time consuming and I only want to sell them for £2 so not going to make many more. They're all handdrawn, so we'll see how they do.
