A little bit of good news in all the doom and gloom

I've just been looking at the HMRC website, and it says that the personal allowance rises from £6475 to £7475 for the year 2011-2012. For basic rate tax payers, this should make them £200 a year better off. It's not a lot, but it'll help a little bit. :)

Did you see the bit where if you earn over £100,000 they start clobbering your personal allowance? I know it's uncharitable but I smiled at that one.

But I'm jumping up and down shouting "I voted Liberal so I could get a £10,000 personal allowance. When do I want it? I want it now!"

Did you see that TV program that said when Hong Kong got rid of most of it's taxes and basically only incomed taxed the rich, loads of the population became rich, and they pulled in more tax money that before? I want to give that a go :).

Well its a start not much but I will still welcome any sort of relief!!! Just completed SA and I am deliberating what to spend my refund on ........ all £2.20 of it lolxxxx
