Have just been doing my 'accounts' for the month and have worked out that I've spent £46 more than I've earnt!!! And I thought this was quite a good month! Darn it .
Although I still have stock upstairs, waiting for all those orders that are round the corner due to people just being paid (heehee!!), so if I look at it that way I could recover it next month. Here's hoping!!!
I was hoping that doing the sums would cheer me up, oh well! Not giving up that easily, I know it takes time :)

Thank you Michelle! No, I'm not disheartened. It would have been nice to be in profit or break even but I know from speaking to other crafters that this all takes time. :)

Ah, but if its stock, then that's classed as an asset, and goes in your balance sheet, rather than against sales, so if you have more than £46 in stock, you will have made a profit for the month :D
Shall I stop being an accounts geek now :o

As long as your investing the money "spent" into the business for the future it should be seen as investing in the future.. I bet you have stock which you need to offset against your "loss"..

If you are anything like me there are too many things out there I want to buy for my craft so as soon as I make money I spend it on some new mould, scent or whatever!!!
Ow by the way I am a millionair - according to all the e-mails I have been getting lately saying some rich relative has died and I am the only beneficiary. Never knew I had so many relations I know nothing about!!!
Cheers.

I have to get round to doing my accounts soon but as i do accounts as my 'day job' it's the last thing i want to do when i get home. Plus the fact it's going to confirm how much i've spent and how little i've made.

...buy a Euromillions ticket - more hope of becoming a millionaire that way than I have by balancing my accounts......;););)

Snap! Funny isn't it how we are so good at keeping other peoples accounts in order but when it comes to our own its a case of hunt the receipt and think of a number!!!:)
