I have tried on and off over the last few years to master bead crochet, and repeatedly failed miserably :fencing:

With the house to myself this weekend, I decided that this time I was going to be successful. Ages ago I'd bookmarked an animated tutorial, and armed with some size 8 seed beads and a vicious-looking crochet hook, after a few false starts, I managed a successful attack.

And here's what I managed...

It may not look like much, but I'm really chuffed with it :jump:

Wow, what a clever bunny you are (I find it difficult to do normal crochet, never mind beaded stuff :o)

Love the colours too, really nice.

The colours were chosen mainly because they stand out from each other, and I had enough in the same size. The instructions I used recommended using different colours so you could see where you are.

This will end up being a great travelling project, 'cos the beads are strung on first, so once they're on, you're only going to loose them if you break them :D

I haven't actually tried normal crochet, but as a beader I've seen some stunning crocheted ropes, and decided I wanted to be able to make them.

Its by no means a quick project, but once the beads are threaded on you don't have to worry about scattering supplies :p

This is fantastic - I've just taken up crochet and I'm enjoying it hugely - this would be a great next step for me. Any chance of a link to the animated tutorial you mention?

It looks great! Well done!
I do a lot of crochet but never tried bead crochet. I would say I would give it a try but I am experimenting now with crochet with wire.
Have you ever tried?
