Im trying to pinpoint the era when women used to wear wide legged trousers, (not flares).
Like Gwen Stefani in the 'its my life' video.
I keep thinking its 1930's, worn by women like Great Barbo but cant find pictures.
Please heeeelp.

God I have tried to find something but zip. I think Greta Garbo was about in the 20's and was famous for wearing trousrs (and maybe a spot or 2 of acting!!).

Sorry

I go to a lot of 1940's dos and the women quite often wear high waisted, wide legged trousers with flat shoes, they are cool!!

...I'm sure they were called beach pyjamas or leisure suits though....quite often they were a two piece set, like the bedtime pj's of today.

The bottoms of the trousers, collar & cuffs were frequently trimmed with wide ostrich or marabou feathers.

Purely for research purposes I watched De-Lovely last night(about Cole Porter)I paid attention to clothes and jewellery and i noticed some ladies wore flared trouser so yep, 1930's/40's is the correct era.
