What do you do with strands of stone chips ?
Do you just re-thread them into a necklace ?

Stone chips are a great way to add texture to a jewellery item. They are both versatile and beautiful. I quite often find that there is a lot of snobbery connected to chips. They are thought to be of less quality than the round beads (like the left overs). Given the choice I'd prefer the chips anyday.
They look great as a string of chips necklace or they can be incorporated to mixed media pieces either individually or in clusters. I've just posted a picture in Seahorses asymetrical necklace thread of a necklace I call cherry blossom that is made with amethyst chips.

You can do just about anything with them, like any other bead :D

I love stone chips. Haven't made anything as adventurous as BBD, (which is beautiful by the way), but I have tried a few ways of stringing them, including pleating (sp?) them. You can have a look at my site if you want to see what I mean.
I agree that they add great texture to jewellery, and no to will ever be the same.
