Heavy Traffic!

I have my shop through lycos but recently i've noticed when i click onto my website it takes ages to load and sometimes i get a message saying 'please try again later we are experiencing heavy traffic' or something like that anyway.

I know the heavy traffic isn't related to my site so i'm guessing it's lycos's server or something - could this be the case?

I'm getting quite miffed off about it as i pay my monthly subsricption for there services so surely i should get my space.

I don't understand alot about websites/internet so don't know if this is normal/exceptable. Does or has anyone else experienced this.

If it's not a common problem then i'll have to consider getting another website and host as it's not as if i get a high amount of traffic so i can't afford to lose any.

Any advice would be great.

I just had someone email me an order as the site kept 'timing out' on her.

Thats fine if it's a normal problem, i just wanted to check and make sure that the service i'm paying for isn't sub standard and didn't want to change host/website if it's a problem i can have with others.

I wish it was. I just copied and pasted the message that kept coming up. I can't even get to grips with the welsh language and i've lived here all my life............lol.
