I've done a little bit with freshwater pearls - not so keen on some of the dyed ones though :p

I have always liked pearls but not so much in necklaces more rings and earings. I tend to like the more understated look than the 80's look at me.

Cheers.

I bought some a while back thinking my amazing idea for them would look great but when I put it together it was awful, now i have pearls and I dont know how to make them look trendy!

I don't worry too much about trendy, and just stick with making something I would happily wear.

Trends come and go, and I'm usually about 2 season behind anyway :p

Never had much luck with pearls I find people like crystal beads better

I'm loving pearls right now!!

I have a set (necklace, braclet, earrings) that i made with sterling and some gorgeous freshwater pearls which i love!

I've also found they're popular to sell. I had some stunning peacock freshwaters which i sold out of at the last fairs i did.

I think it depends on the pearls. I find that the lower quality pearls just don't have the same effect, it really does seem to make a difference. Simplicity is also key in my opinion. I love a simple single strand of pearls with silver findings. :)

If you want something a bit modern i would suggest getting some peacock freshwaters as they are more unusual not to mention stunning!

I have a long pearl necklace that I primarily wear as a bracelet - it looks great wrapped my my wrist 5 or 6 times. I tend to wear it with jeans and a t-shirt although i have worn it long as a necklace with a smart dress too. I like pearls - and apparently the ladylike look is coming back!

I have to say Im quite glad ladylikeness is coming back.
I long for the day when we get to look girly again instead of us having to wear what I call 'attitude' clothing.

But the only problem being when the girly look comes back in we are too old to look girly again!!! I have asked my family when I do pop my clogs they must bury me in my jeans. I seem to live in them.

Cheers.

I would love the ladylike look to come back too - if I actually went out of the house to work then I would wear it daily but it's a bit too much to walk up to nursery in the pouring rain with my heels on! I did wear a dress though yesterday...

I don't care what people think of my clothes (as long as they think they're clean!)
I go around all the time in really long (ground touching) flowing skirts or dresses. I do stand out as being different but it does get me noticed and I always have my jewellery on . Don't even take the bins out with out it! so in a way I see myself as a walking advert!

I loved the sloan look in the eighties and wore my pearls to death then. I also had loads of Laura Ashley classic print dresses and still love that style. have to be having a very confident day to dig those out of the wardrobe and wear though!
