I have been holding back posting this thread as I don't want to jinx myself but I'm bursting to tell you all about the last few days! Just when I thought that my mosaics were not going to be the success I hoped for, since Wed evening I have made 8 sales, all through Ebay!

Thursday was the most amazing day. I was at work but logged on when I could, and every time I did I'd made another sale! In total I sold 1 Wed, 4 Thurs, 1 Fri, 1 Sat and another today. 3 have sold through auction and 5 through my shop. I am so excited but at the same time keep telling myself that this may all be a fluke and it may go back to how it was before.

If this continues though, I have a already worked out I can cut down my hours at work and do 4 days instead of 5. Anyway, going to bed now to continue that dream!!! Sorry to go on :)

Well done!! Ebay is working its magic for you thats great.

I hope you can keep up with the demand. I'm not listing at the moment because I'm trying to get on top of the work created from last weeks listings (oh and 2 small children and 1 hubbie)

Wow that is amazing, even better is the sales you had through your shop and getting a better price for them. As mentioned above, i hope you can keep up with demand, cause it sounds like you're gonna be very busy.

It doesn't seem long ago you were only thinking of having an ebay shop - bet your so glad you went for it.

Well done and may it continue :mf:

Thanks all! I must say, I didn't stop all weekend! As I haven't been making sales, I got to a point where I stopped making as I had a room full of stock and no buyers. Now I am at the point where I have run out, of both stock and supplies! Have stocked up now though and have booked a few days off work this week in case I get another surge, and to prepare for the weekends craft fairs.

The most popular colour is black / white /stone. That's the latest one I've made so glad it's going down well!

Those colours are very popular at the moment, so are light browns/stones and duck egg blue.

Brilliant news, really pleased for you, such a good feeling hey!!:) I closed my EBay shop but still keep some things listed on there and this weekend sales went through the roof, and on my website too, think it was the wet weather that made people hit the keyboard rather than the high street!!! I was listing some things Friday night on a 10 day listing and by Saturday afternoon they had sold!!!!! Madness!!!:mf: Now am frantically spending each evening crafting till the wee hours to complete the orders and get things made for the craft fairs coming up too!!! But can't complain!:sm:

I hope that the a stream of orders continues to flow through your shop so you can cut your hours at work.

Are you doing the craft fair at Moreton on Sat? It will be my first fair. Not at all prepared so am going to be winging it a little. Hope to see you there if you are attending.

Have had some really nice comments from buyers which is lovely. It makes me a lot more confident about my work, plus as you say, let's hope the positive comments encourage more sales. It's gone a bit quite now though so hope I didn't speak to soon!!!

Hi Kate,
Well Done. I told you to give it another go.

So glad to hear that you're doing well. Hope you've got some stock left for Sunday.!!!!!!

I find that i go a couple of weeks hardly selling anything and then it goes mad for a couple of weeks. Hope it continues....... It makes everything worth while when you sell loads.

Next you'll be like me...wondering weather doing fairs is worth the effort, when you can sell things in the comfort of your sofa and without the days standing about selling nothing.

Sharon

The thought has crossed my mind Sharon! There are lot less overheads selling though ebay but I do enjoy the craft fairs and meeting everyone. I think craft fairs will go better nearer xmas though. Let's hope the good fortune continues this weekend!!!

Well done !!! Good to hear that it's picking up at last. I used to sell vintage clothes on Ebay and since Xmas it's been absolutely dead so I haven't bothered at all.
Craft items are notoriously hard to sell on Ebay as there's so much rubbish imported from China. I often look at the dichroic jewellery as it's something I've dabbled in, and how people manage to compete with the cheap imported stuff and still make a profit I've got no idea.
