50x0.4mm=20cm=8 inches times that by 2 is 16inches.
Yet the 100 0.4mm bicones I have barely make 14 inches!!
Whats going on?!!

Right, my lovlies i have worked out what I(when I say I, I mean the little pixies that ruin things for me)have done wrong.
I assume if a bead is discribed at 4mm it is 4mm from top to bottom(where bead threads through) as well as across.
4mm bicones are 4mm across..... but **3mm** from top to bottom,ie where the wire threads through.
Im so annoyed now.
I looked on a chart on a bead site and even that says 100 4mm beads = 16 inches.
Not happy, not happy at all.
Anyhoo, it goes round my neck just about but it will now have to be described as a choker.

Well maths ain't my strong point so I will need to agree with you on that one.
Every day is a school day - you will remember that the next time you are ordering beads. Pain in the **** though. Bet you feel like choking somebody with your choker.
Cheers.

I've just chased a 4mm bicone around trying to measure it and you are right they are only 3mm  which is a bit of a swizz, will have to remember that when working necklace lengths
