Newbie needing some help :)

Hi All,

I am very new to polymer clay and I have been asked to make a wedding cake topper for a friend. I have spent that last few days researching however I cant find a definitive answer in relation to whether it is safe for the topper to come into direct contact with the cake or not.

Can someone enlighten me?? :D

Also what sealer should be used for cake toppers?

Sorry nobody has been able to answer your question yet. Although I use polymer clay, I only make jewellery. There are clayers on here who do wedding toppers, so I would hope one of them will be able to give you a more definitive answer.

My instinct is to say that once cooked it should be ok for the topper to be in contact with the cake. Polymer clay doesn't need to be sealed for jewellery, it can be just buffed to a sheen, so may be ok for your needs??

Wish I could give you a better answer, but wanted to try & help just a little!
