Hiya all
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but I have looked on other threads and they seem to be talking about web stuff so I will try.
I created my own website last year and have had no traffic from it whatsoever. I am not listed with Google at all and I think at the last look I was between site 30-50 on MSN and Yahoo.
Does anyone know of someone who can sanity check website for things that google etc does not like or see what bits I am missing to get a better page rank.
I have checkout the forums from my shopping cart provider and they all talk in computer speak which I really don't get.
I was hoping that for a small fee payable via Paypal or whatever I could get someone to go onto my live site and tell me whats wrong - I don't even know if that is possible but it makes sense to me that it would be possible!!
Any ideas - anyone?

You listed on google
see here http://209.85.135.104/search?hl=en&q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwillowmaxdesign.com%2F&btnG=Search
But you site hasn't given google and reason to rank for you.. You mentioned page rank which you should worry about..
Its worth reading this http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors
I take so much time to promote a site hence why I do it full time..
Always ask yourself why should my site out rank others!

I don't understand what you mean by I havn't given goodle a reason to rank me - I should worry about page rank.
Should I contact you direct and not go via this forum - If you do this for a living I don't expect the help for free.

I had a quick look at your site there. It is lovely but you haven't expanded your html meta tags. This is what google will rank you on. If there is no info in there they wont rank I'm afraid.
Hope this is of some use.
Cheers.

I'm not going to comment on the web stuff as I've no knowledge of it, but I've looked at your website and really like it. I love the type of cards you do, so have bookmarked it for the next set of celebrations in July.
Thanks:mf:

Advice is to (to a point)
Anyway why don't you rank ?
Please please read that document is the other post which should give you ideas on why...
A few tips from me
Look at the titles of each of your pages ..
http://209.85.135.104/search?hl=en&q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwillowmaxdesign.com%2F&btnG=Search
If you see what google has picked up its almost all the same title..
Each page should have unquie meta's (title, description, keywords) Do not try to keep repeating "cards" etc...
Content is king.. If you look at this page http://willowmaxdesign.com/shop/product_reviews.php?cPath=1_17&products_id=70
It has no information on it? No text telling me what the product is!
Links.. You need to find as many links as posiable link exchanges don't count..
Hope that helps.. Its just a few simple tips.. But it takes time...

I know how frustrating it is when no one seems to be hitting your site, but follow Mr Medias advice and if you don't understand what to do then it would be good business advice to get some help. It wont be free but if you need to sell your products then it's the only way really. Even with the best help in the world though it really does take time to build up links and then ranking on google etc. I am no expert but after nearly a year my website is starting to rank higher on searches. It's frustrating when you want to get going but just hang in there it will happen in the end.
Good luck

Time is a factor.. Always think if your going to rank then your going to out rank someone else.. Why should you out rank a similar site that been around for years ?
2 questions I read all day and every day are why doesn't my new site rank and why has my ranking dropped.. The above really answer both of those question..
If you ever come accross a short cut then it is going to break the guidelines set by google/yahoo/msn..
Even google gives the same advice as me http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=34432&topic=8524

Many Thanks for all the advice and tips you have all given - I'm glad you liked the site - I was quite pleased with it as a first attempt but like you have all said - it takes sooooooooo long!!
I will have a read of the links and see what changes I can make to the tags.
Thanks for taking the time to look all of you.
Cheers:mf:
