Has anyone else thought of this when making bunting or similar?
Today I made 90 ten inch long penants for bunting. Sewing the triangle was boring enough, but really quick compared to ironing the seams flat.
Getting very cheesed off very quickly, I decided there must be an easier way to press the seams flat.
So, I used my paper pattern triangle to make a slightly bigger one out of heavy white card. Slip this card triangle into your inside out penant, with the seams going along the centre, not the edges.
Eh Voila.....because the fabric is pulled taught, you can whizz along the seams with the iron. This gives you a nice edge and non-steamed fingers! You then turn your triangle the right way in, and press flat.
Am I a genius, or does everyone do this (or something even cleverer)??
I'm quite chuffed with myself......:p
