Hello fellow foodies.
Does anyone know of a good jam jar supplier. I've been using the jamjarshop online but they are very expensive.
Any other ideas?
Thank you

Have you asked on Freecycle. Usually loads of the things down here, costs nothing to ask

I use jbconline or Ascott note the double "t"). Both have websites, both do online sales and both are very efficient and reliable. (I also use recycled jars that friends, family and work colleagues save for me, but I still need to buy some).
If you have problems tracking them down let me know and I'll find links for you.

I got some pretty cheaply at Ikea but our one doesn't always have the same stock in - might be worth a look though if you have one nearby.

My sister-in-law has recently told me that a friend who makes chutneys and the like used Lakeland for the lids but buys the cheapest brand of mint sauce at somewhere like Sainsbury's, removes the contents and then uses the jars for her stock. Depends on your position with wasting all that mint sauce!
Apparently it is quite cost effective though!

Good idea - except I wouldn't use mint sauce jars as you can still smell the mint after they have been washed umpteen times. If I get jars like that I only use them for stuff which will have a similar smell and so the new contents won't be tainted with another smell.

I manage to get all my jars from friends, family and freegle (freecycle) have made plum jam, bramble jelly, apple butter, apple chutney, pear chutney, apple jelly (the less said about that the better, not what I expected!) rhubarb jam, think that's it, could have missed something out, not had to buy a single jar, if you are on facebook ask your friends who live close to save them for you. You'll probably end up with too many in the end and have to pass some on on freegle, lol! :)
