i've spent pretty much all day sorting out all my fused glass pendants for my website - taking rubbish photos and photoshopping them into something presentable, naming and measuring things, writing descriptions and uploading them onto my website. PHEW!

well, now i am all done and i'd love for you lovely folk to go have a nosey around the brand new jewellery section. out with the old, in with the new. it's just glassy goodies now so head over to HH for a bit o' glassy p*rn!!

there are ones on chokers, sterling silver chains, suede thongs and some ribbon & cord necklaces. all colours, all sizes! i didn't realise how many i'd made http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/forum/Smileys/default/tongue.gif

hope you like them and i can tempt you, any feedback would be good too (hope i dont upset anyone posting this link here, i thought you'd like to see what i've been up to without me posting lots of pictures here)...

Fused Glass Jewellery & Accessories (http://www.handmadeheaven.biz/page5.htm) (4 sub pages of goodies)

i have more cufflinks to add but i'm all out of oomph for now http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/forum/Smileys/default/tongue.gif i'll also be giving the 'kiln-fused glass' section a sort out soon as well. no rest for the wicked!

I was looking on your site the other day for a pendant but everything i liked had sold so will be browsing regularly now!! I still want a million coasters for my new house.... don't have a date yet but as soon as i get in and can remember what colour everything is i'll be buying a bundle!!

Gorgeous!! Your new pieces are really fresh and pretty, perfect for Spring. I've always liked your website too, it's very professional.

You should be really proud of your hard days work :)

Love your stuff Steph - it's gorgeous! I want lots of them - better
Good idea to put a link in to your pics as loads can take up bandwidth - or something like that!!

thanks for everyone's support and kind words. it's also nice to know people do check out my website so can see i've not been slacking! lol!

i'm trying to get things sorted and update all my selling pages to the new shop format these are in but there are only so many hours in the day and a full-time job to do (not glass!). i'm on the case though and you've spurred me on to get going to sort it :)

buttonberry - if there was anything you fancied i can always make another similar. just say the word ;) and 'a marvel' eh? think my head just swelled about 10 times normal size! ha!!

I love your website, i think the photos are all just fab, how do you get them looking like that???????:)PPP! (practice!). i take rubbish photos and use photoshop to edit them into something that looks much more professional.

use a base of white with another sheet of white card vertically behind (pinned on a pinboard on the wall above my desk), overlapping with a slight curve onto the bottom sheet (we use a professional photographer at work and this is similar to the setup they had)
i use my main room light and 2 small clip-on spots either side of the object. i move them around to get nice lighting.
make sure you set your camera's white balance to be as white as poss in the photo you take.
invest in a good photo-editing programme - i use photoshop but you can use photoshop elements to get the results.
play around with things in the image adjustments menu - i use levels (drag the light grey blob left, then the black blob to the right a bit), then brightness/contrast (boost these both a little), colour balance (for my camera i need to correct to add more blue and more cyan), add a tiny bit of lightness and saturation using hue/saturation, then finally get the eraser out on airbrush (set to white in the tools pallette) at around 400 pixels to rub out any grey background and go down to around 150px to get in close.ta da!!

being a graphic designer also helps :)

Well done, you've made some lovely items and better still that you've got them all photo's and on your site. I know how easy it is to sit back and take your foot off the gas.

Brilliant!

Ah thanks Handmade Heaven, i have just treated myself to a digital camera and am going to see if i can work out the instructions!!!
Maybe i should have married a graphic designer instead of a carpenter!!!:D

It's a great website and your glass things are really beautiful - I love the stripey hangers.
Hope this is not too cheeky, but would you be able to give me some advice about jewellery findings? I've been struggling to find a supply of the type of thing I want. At the moment I'm using the silver-plated Aanraku pendant bails that are sold by Warm Glass but I'd really like to use some plainer sterling ones like those on your pendants and would LOVE to find some 'hidden' type ones to go on the back of my pendants. Can you tell me where you get yours from?
Thanks
Michelle
