I've had nearly 800 in just over a year and I'm quite pleased with it so far. And I believe that as the forum grows then the directory will grow too - so get plugging!!

As with everything.. You need to right a great title.. add a great set of keywords.. and a good description and your get more traffic..
If you have a title saying "Free Beer" vs "Buy beer here" people are far more likely to click on the free option..
You can email me to change the info on your listing anytime..
One of the biggest leason I learn about online marketing was that ranking of sites only create traffic if the user is interested in the title of the web site..
"Cleo crafts" is your title.. What does it tell you ?
Compare
"Handmade handbags by Rebekka Leigh"
Hope that make sense...
Top tip..
Ask someone who is not web savy to choose a link from a list and ask them why ?
ps cleo change your homepage title on your site too ;)

admin note: Site is not a member of the directory
I am the same as you really, except I have had no hits at all yet!
I joined a couple of months ago but, the only customers i've had on my new site are through another craft forum.
Does anyone know the best way to free advertising???

I know the feeling, i think you`ll find, it`s probably because we`re all sellers on here and no buyers, so if anything, it`s just to be nosey in what you have to offer and to see if they can do better.

The forum is seperate to the directory ..
Yup the purpose of the forum is to chat, share ideas and share advice with fellow crafters...it's not really an advertising tool (although some use it that way til Peter sees them ;) ). The directory is the advertising bit aimed at people who don't craft themselves.

Thanks lizan for the encouragement! Yesterday we got an order from Arizona on our website - heaven knows how that buyer found our site.... at least we are still making money on our cardmaking classes, and more importantly, both love doing it!! (my sister and i are in this together) - just got ourselves a cricut and cuttlebug machine so playing away with those now....
cheers,
Louise

Alright..............I've tried.............but.............what the hell are you talking about? :o I'm mystified by the dissapointment you show at not finding any buyers on a craft discussion forum................what on earth did you expect?

Funny :) ... but true.
If you want buyers then you have to build a website that
a) gets forums in the search engines
b) converts well into sales
39 hits from a site is good news. I have PAID for links that have got less :D

But as discussed previously this is a craft forum where we talk about crafts, it's not meant to promote sales.
The advertising part is seperate (crafts directory). If people such as habbyworld would like extra sales perhaps it would be worth investing in advertising in places like these (directories not craft forums) - just an opinion!

Emma your half right but this section of the forum is a Q&A and support for the directory..
Hope that ok..

Yeah thats fine, i understand that. I read it as though others are confusing being a member of the forum (and not getting any sales) with advertising in the directory.

Don't ask me what that gibberish was, I am still learning to write words properly :o
It was supposed to say....
If you want buyers then you have to build a website that
a) gets found in the search engines
b) converts well into sales

I signed up to the directory last month and have to say that ever since my sales have gone mad and visits to my site have tripled if not more!! Am well pleased with it, and only too happy to pay my monthly fee to support such a great site which has such a lot of effort put into it and is such great fun too with some truly lovely people who always put a smile on my face!!:mf:
