hi all

i've just got my candle tins from the good ol' USA!!!!

They are 80z tins and i'm not sure what wick size to use for them, i want them to burn all the way round and down not just down the middle.

thanks

Having never made candles before my advice may not be good but I have seen large candles with several wicks in them - would that work with your moulds? Hopefully a candle maker would be along soon to offer proper advice!

Hi Vik,

What diameter are the tins and what wax will you be using. The reason I ask is that Soy Wax needs bigger wicks than Paraffin Wax.

All the best.

the tins are 3 inches in diameter and it would be paraffin wax.

Hiya

I'm a candle maker too. For 8oz and 3" I think I would probably try a test batch and put one in with an LX14 and a LX16 to see how the mix worked.

Wicks are a nightmare to get right aren't they? People just think you melt wax, throw in some perfume and colour and of you go without thinking about how it burns or how they burn them!!!

Hello everyone.

What wick sizes are you using Vik?

The LX range are a fairly new range from America and I use them.

All the best.
