Hi everyone,
I am having a major block on ideas for my designing. I haven't had a creative block like this before as I am usually brimming with ideas all the time. What do you do if you have a period like this?
I have tried to keep away from the graphics package this last weekend and focus on other things in the vain hope that being away might spark some inspiration. Any ideas to kick start the old creative juices!!?

Market research. Not necessarily in your product area, but generally. Look at good design thats out and about. I know it sounds like a good excuse to hit the shops, but if the weathers good, theres nothing better than looking at good design, whether its ceramics, fabrics, handbags. I find it an inspiration. Leave credit card at home, then you can't even buy just look.
I hope you creativity comes back soon - I'm sure it will.:)

Thanks Amanda, I was thinking of taking a trip to the Metro centre (Big shopping place in Newcastle if you have never heard of it!) so you have confirmed to me that it's a good idea!

Have a flick through catalouges for inspiration on colours or just take a walk around the garden. Thats what i do and it works 90% of the time.

Sometimes just taking a really good break and forgetting about it for a while works for me. Then when I do start back seem to be more enthusiastic and creative.
All the best.

I take a break from it all. If I can't think what to quill then I don't and only do the odd bits when someone asks me if I can do them a card or something, but my hearts not in it if I don't feel inspired and the quality of my work may go down.
Sometimes I will have a period of dabbling in another craft just to give me something to do - but a craft kit then there's not much to think about when doing it as the instructions are all there.
Good luck in getting your inspiration back!

Try looking at Flickr.com I'm on there quite a lot and it can be really inspiring. I also read through the list of blogs I've got to get some inspiration and to give myself a kick up the bum if I'm being rubbish! My blog has got some cute french things on it - hint, hint ;)

Thanks everyone for your support!
I had a good look around on the web yesterday afternoon, found pictures that inspired me for colour collections and ended up deciding on all the colour combinations for the new CD and designed two sets of papers! Yeah..more than I have achieved in about 3 weeks! I have orders to process this morning and get to the post office and then I am going to get going again. You never know I might actually meet my target of getting a new release ready for the end of April. At the rate I was working before it looked like it would be June!! Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Anice,
Glad you got your creative juices running again. I can tell from your thread you have a renewed energy.
Oops, I think I've gone spiritual.
