Thank you for your feedback - Glad you all like them :)
Yes they are very simple to make - these two were done in an evening last night (there were four hands involved though!!)
Both bags are made up in the Uptown Range from Moda http://www.unitednotions.com/un_main.nsf/main?openpage, they are newish on our site. However because we thought some people might just want the pattern and the fabric all in we decided to kit them (have just added them to the site). So if people prefer they can get the whole pack instead of having to get things seperately.
We are also selling the pattern on it's own as we know us crafty types often have fabric stashes and might have something in mind already :)

Ok here goes, male opinion on handbags!!
I am, if truth be known quite well versed with handbag mentality. Through years of training by Clare I fully understand the absolute deep rooted need women have many types, shapes and colours of handbags.
When shopping I can quite happily comment 'that's a lovely bag clare' to which I will get happy agreement and nods or 'nah that's horrid!'. We discuss, we share, we bond!
So with my masculinity fully intact I can say that I like the white flowered one best. With white as it's base colour and the fact it contains quite a few different coloured flowers it will go with the most number of outfits. So as well as looking great it gives the most flexibility. It could almost be an everyday bag whereas the blue one would be less flexible!

OMG Steve you sound just like my husband (who is a Steve aswell), it's taken me years but I have him well trained in handbagology and have hinted at a new one for my birthday.
The bags are both really lovely, I like the white one best as it is very summery.

Ok, it's working now! Do you just sell the kits or do you sell the finished bag too?

Considering i havent used my sewing machine for about 15 years(0nly bought it to make curtains) and have no experinence at anything like this ( which is crazy considering my mum used to be a dressmaker) are they ok for a complete novice because i really like the blue and brown one, or are they full of sewing technical jargon that i would not understand?
yours hopefully

Hi Katie,
Yes for now we just sell the patterns and the kits, however we are planning on selling the items we make in the future :)
Thanks,

My favourite is the white one, although they are both very attractive. Thinking about it, if I had to chose one, it would be hard...... ;)
I've had the same handbag for years....I'm not one for handbags really. I used to love those tan leather saddlebag types, until all my clutter outgrew them....!
They are really good looking bags though....

I like the blue & brown one best. I think the paler one would probably get a bit grubby after being out & about a few times although it would be nice for special summer occasions!
I'm actually on the look out for a big leather one to hold lots of stuff & last for ever as I'm not really a bag lady(!) though I did succumb recently and buy a very nice bag handmade by a girl at my rowing club though I don't think it's going to last too long plus it's not quite big enough, oh well!

Hi Heather
If you can make curtains you can make these - no bother! They are really straightforward and there is no jargon. We would be happy to interpret anything you didn't understand though but we're no experts honest! Lisa xxx

I'm following on with the crowd. I like the blue and brown one. I think that's because those colours are so in fashion today both in clothes and home textiles. Really wish I could sew I really do!!
