Ok...so how can I do this?
I brought some lovely jeans a couple of months ago, and spending loads of time grubbing around after my lo, one of the knees has gone.
I er 'cleverly' started cutting out flower shapes and decorating them ready to sew directly over the holes...but!!!! how on earth can it be done. My jean leg fits over the sleeve of my machine...but how can I applique around the shapes as the leg will on turn so much?
Please don't tell me to unpick the whole leg seam just to fix this darn hole.
As a last resort I'll use the 'super' iron on stuff or hand sew it. It'll just be tricky sewing through layers of fabric and denim where I have layered all the flowers up.
hmm tricky...any ideas for me?
Thanks
Krysia

You can always hand applique, it looks quite nice.

My boss hand sews the patches on. Takes her about 10 minutes. Mind you they are haphazard, any old material to hand patches, not flowers.

I sooo do not iron...apart from the things I make! Hubby has to do his own...no chance he can get me to do it! And now and then I sneak the odd skirt in his ironing pile...tee hee

Ironing winds me up but handsewing is supposed to induce a hypnotic type trance and calm you down, lower your blood pressure and other lovely beneficial things.
If you handsew you'll disperse all that sewing machine rage....

Can you get the area that needs repair into a small embroidery hoop and hand sew the flower embellishment?
Does you sewing machine do darning or zigzag stitches that you could just stitch it closed and then add embroidery - just threads, no applique or anything?
Hand sewing isn't sew bad if you keep your eye on your work and proceed slowly. Do slow deep breathing.
If your machine can stitch it up, use a bright thread so it will blend in with your bit of embroidery...
oh, and what's a "lo?"
