Just a thought, ever thought about doing multi-coloured ones?

Thank you!!! Yes, they are available in these colours plus blues, greens, purples, and yellows, either mixed or in 2 tones of the same colour (as shown). I can make them to order depending on what people want. I am making some purple ones at the moment!

Lovin 'em! They look great.
I agree multi coloured ones would look really good too.
Are mosaics ok to handle really hot dishes etc... 'cos you could make really nice (and useful) hot plates for large pots etc... sell them as a set with the coasters?
Good stuff.
Steve :)

Great idea! My dad suggested a tea pot stand so would probably be along the same lines?

Yep, definately.
Do you ever make mosaics with broken tiles. I have experimented in the past, made a little coaster shape in the art nouveau stlye. I cut out a wooden shape, stencilled the art pattern on the wood and used the broken mosaics to fill the pattern.
It was quite time consuming but I was just thinking it would allow you to create say coasters in shapes as well as the square ones. Plus you could go around curves, like plat posts etc... with broken tiles.
Just got me thinking!!! I love mosaics, especially the very deep coloured glass types.

I have been thinking about starting to work with broken tiles, as you say, could be a lot more versitile. I am going to start making door numbers soon and think I will use broken tiles for this. Have also just order some small mirror tiles (different colours) to start experiementing with!

....very smart indeed!
Random mixed colour ones in pastels and/or brights might be nice too. I'm drawn to anything with lots of spectrum colours on it - just so cheering.
What about placemats?

...another great idea! Hadn't thought of that. I think I'd better leave my full time job so I can get on with making all these new things!!! :)

They're lovely. I'm gonna have to buy some goodies from you at one of the fairs!
I agree placemats would be great! And some bright multicoloured ones would be lovely.
I know nothing about mosaics at all so just ignore me if i'm talking rubbish......but could you make some door signs? Things like 'Laura's Room' or 'Bathroom' etc etc? Maybe if doing the letters with tiles is too awkward you could do a mosaic background and use metal letters or something?

Yes, have been thinking of door numbers so door signs could be done the same way I think. I will need to make some samples up I think and then make them to order. Lots to do before Cheddar - had better get a move on!!!

They look fantistic, really good quality. I'm really into pastel colours pink, blue but please don't do this for Cheddar or I'll be spending money not making it LOL.:) :)

You could do some general door signs like 'Girls/Boys Only' 'Keep out' to sell on the day?

Hi there, they look really neatly made and fit well with your current range of items, your colour schemes are always very attractive. However, I agree with Kipper and think that it would be good to branch out into cutting the tiles, it becomes much more fun then as there is much more scope for using pattern & colour. Are the tiles mounted on plywood, do you stick felt to the back so that the coasters don't scratch surfaces?

Yes, will definitely branch out to using broken tiles. The coasters are based on MDF and yes there is a deep red felt on the bottom - should photograph them showing this actually. Glad everyone likes them!!! :)
