It's making my mouth water, sounds like a really lovely combination, the sweetness of orange with the sour of the rhubarb! ooh have a bite and tell us what it tastes like.....

not tried rhubarb and elderflowers.... haven't heard that combo before. Do you use actual elderflowers or some sort of elderflower cordial? Most people seem to like it with ginger but I'm not the hugest ginger fan.

The flowers:b: but not the stalks. They are purfumey but as the rhubarb has such a kick flavour ends up subtle....sort of like adding vanilla to rice pudding.
Do you want a silly elderflower story? You know the elderflower cordial? At Kentwell we live like Tudors and expect the children to act years older than their C21st age. So I had children running a Tudor biscuit stall for me during the day and they had a bottle of diluted elderflower cordial hidden under the counter. The weather was hot but they did their week's stint with a cheerful heart and it was time for a switch over. The stall was left in a C21st state of young person's mess so armed with a bin bag I started clearing up. I picked up the bottle of elderflower cordial and it had turned to champagne. The top blew off and showered me and the stall with sweet stickiness. :o It was funny - afterwards!
So there you are. an unorthodox recipe for elderflower champagne.:D
