Can anyone vote for my father plaque (http://www.craftjuice.com/story.php?title=Father_plaque) please
Many thanks

I'm not a member of craftjuice so can't vote or if I am can't remember my user name - but I really like it. Just out of interest is it your intention to keep the plaque (au naturel) or could you paint them in a shabby schic sort of way and then do the engraving over the top. Just a thought.

I can't really paint the wood 1st as I pyrograph the wood, so once painted i wouldn't be able to pyro on it.
I know a lot of plaques are painted 1st and then written on and the last few days I have been having a confidence crisis that mine are so inferior :(
but it's a different technique

OMG - please don't think they are inferior - I didn't mean that at all - yours are "unique" and very lovely. I was just thinking of another option for some of them - to grab as much of a market as poss. Leave them as they are.
My daughter's when they were little used to write short little poems to me and such - (I have kept them) - but what would be lovely is to have them put onto a wooden plaque - have you thought of that? The poem's never made any sense but it would be a lovely reminder put onto a plaque and displayed rather than tucked away in a treasure box. Don't Laugh, but the poem's used to go along the lines of "Mummy is so kind, Mummy is so good, Daddy goes to work and Mummy spends his money!" That kind of thing! Classic children's stuff!
Please let me know you aren't offended with my previous suggestion.

Nooooooo, not at all, I wasn't offended at all. It was a great suggestion.
I'm so sorry if I made you feel like that. My fault entirely, just been a bit down lately.
It seems so easy to see everyone else's work's of art and crafts and compare and I end up thinking "oh oh, mine are rubbish!" I've never been very confident though.
I love the little poem, it's great when children do that isn't it. I could put those on plaques, I have a custom section, maybe I should try and make it clearer that sort of thing could be put on the plaques.
Thank you so much for your help :) and again, I'm really sorry

Excellent - all sorted!
I would definately put that sort of suggestion on your site or how about some wooden coaster's for "Grandma/Grandad - Love from - whoever) type things, can you add them to your ideas list. Bet they'd go down really well.
