I'm making a Rowlf the dog cake for a friend's wife who's 30 on Thursday and although I've worked out the main shape of the cake, cut down square cake for body, pudding bowl for face, and all covered in chocolate buttercream for that fuzzy look I'm struggling with the ears ... help what can I use?

Would a thin biscuit base, then piped with butter cream work?

Sounds like this is going to look great. Make sure you put a photo on I'd love to see the finished cake :)

I agree with the biscuit base. How about using gingerbread as it's not as fragile as some biscuit recipes. Just omit the ground ginger if you don't want it ginger flavoured.
