I must of downloaded the one i have been using as it's now expired, it was Microsoft Office picture manager. I don't want to pay for this if i don't have to but what i'm looking for is some software that i can crop/rotate/compress pictures for use on my website etc.

Does anyone know if there are any free ones or recommend one you have to pay for. If the one i have been using is the best around then i shall pay for it, i just don't want to do it without asking you guys first.

I use Flickr for a lot of mine. You will need to get an account but it is free and it's very simple to use. You basically download some stuff when you sign up and when you put your pictures onto your computer you right click on them and say upload to Flickr. It puts them onto Flickr for you and you can rotate, add notes etc and it will give you various sizes to look at so you can download a large image or a thumbnail. I upload all my pictures to Flickr and make them private so that only you can see them and then resize/rotate etc and then put them back onto my computer to upload onto my blog and here!! I'm sure there is an easier way but I like Flickr and it means that I have another copy of my photo's out there just in case my computer goes silly!!

Photobucket works in a similar way to Flickr. It was recommended to me by someone and it's worked fine for me. You can't crop photos with it tho, it's just for hosting and posting.

If you're looking to buy photo software, we use Paint Shop Pro 7. It's a really good piece of kit and very easy to use. You can crop photos, recolour, add effects, add type, all sorts of stuff.

I think you will need to buy Paint Shop Pro if you do, if not certainly a licence. If you are just looking to crop, rotate and do the basic tweaks you probably won't need all it has to offer. I would say Googles Picasa would be perfect. Maybe just try it first since it is free ........
