Hi,
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I have only joined today! However I think it would be great to have a dedicated forum for weavers...to share ideas, techniques, resources, influences etc.

Again, apologies if this has already been mentioned;)

Welcome.
We do have a textile craft section which covers all textile crafts including weaving.
I don't know if we currenty have any members who are into weaving. You'll have to share your interest and recruit a few.

Hi from Texas, welcome ... I agree, weaving could use a room of it's own, but I think it falls under either 'textiles' or 'knitting etc.' .

Are you an accomplished weaver? I have been a beginner for nearly 30 years now...!!! =) I just never have the room here in the house to have the loom set up for long. Really, a loom needs a room of it's own, too - in the person's house! Plus room for all that yarn, and all the accessories. I'm a yarn addict. Used to be a fabric addict years ago when I sewed all the time. It's like an artist and paint...collecting colors.

My husband thinks everything should be put away at the end of the day (at least my projects)...but that's not that easy with weaving OR sewing...way too much trouble. =D

Right now my big idea is weaving little coin pouches (on cardboard) and calling them "pick pockets" to keep guitar picks in, and sell them with my husband's hand made guitars.

Again, welcome!

Thank you both for your replies, you're right I should just put the feelers out for any other people who are into weaving. Thats a great suggestion :D

There is so much great conversation and inspiration going on on all the forums I'm really looking forward to exploring more!

Thanks guys!
