Hi everyone,

I have just completed the fist of a new pegrack range. It is a smaller pegrack (36cm wide) with four pegs. The front is a hand printed polymer plastic.

I'm quite pleased with the look of it. Gonna make a full range of them with different patterns. I may even offer a service to put any image on the front, could even be a photo or a drawing!

Any feedback as always is very welcome.

Steve

very nice and decrotive but you've
lost me on why you 've used the polymer plastic.
can't you put the print straight on to the wood?

yep I can print straight on the wood but it gives a different finish.

Printing the way I do, direct print to wood gives a rustic, aged, and matt finish, like on my signs or KIPanimals.

Printing direct onto polymer plastic gives a very bright shiny finish. It's very clean and polished.

Just a different style pegrack really.

I Get what you meen about the finish It's just I didn't see it fitting in with all your other products which are all rustic and natural.
Sorry it's just the Greeny creeping out in me.( Been spending to long on Eco web sites.:D )

Aye I know what you mean.

I try and keep as much natural as possible. The bulk of my items are made using the best green options I can.

However, to get this style of design there is no other material that will give the finish I needed. All in all the plastic used here is still less than 10% of the total material, so I have kept it to a minimum.

Sorry I wasn't having a go at you over using it. I just wonderd why. I'ts just plastic to me dosent say hand crafted.
I'm a bit funny like that with my beads. I try to use all glass unles it's for childrens things as I think plastic beads look cheap.

Sorry my opinion sounds so blunt but I don't know how to put it any better.
Nice design though.

I like the print - is it from a fabric?

Hi Steve,

I like it and as you say the finish is different. This will appeal to people who are looking for the clean fresh look over the rustic.

Good to have a bit of variety in what you make - appeal to more people that way.

All the best.

Yep, the print is from a fabric source book that I use. It's called 'Swatches' by Dorsey Sitley Alder and Robert D Alder.

It's a great book.

I really like it. The plastic is a great idea, because it's wipe-clean; wood would get rub marks eventually if you kept putting coats & things on the hooks and taking them off again, whereas with the plastic you can just wipe it over. It'll be great for kids too. And I like the idea of personalised prints, you could do photos or pets or patterns to match existing decor. Or a child's name to get them to hang things up!
