Just a friendly reminder of the rules about advertising on the forum .....
There have recently been several "iffy" goings on where people are advertising "new stock" etc.

Advertising:
1. No spamming or unauthorized advertising of goods for sale etc. This includes private messaging without permission to advertise something.
2. Advertising any forum, be it crafts or otherwise related is not allowed in either posts, pm’s or signatures. Such links will be removed from posts or signatures at the discression of the mod/ admin team.
3. Signatures are limited to a small font, a maximum of four links and will be edited by moderators and admin if they take up too much space or include non craft related links.
4. All signature links must be crafts related. (any non craft related signature should not be added until approval has been sought from the moderators or admin.)
5. If you wish to advertise your site or products, you have 4 choices:
· email or pm 0103media for the advertising rates
· Add your site to the directory linked to this site www.ukcraftwebsites.co.uk (http://www.ukcraftwebsites.co.uk/) This includes adverts on the forums right hand side
· Add your site to your signature and then give great advice and help to people on the forum. Your reputation will advertise your site.
· Go elsewhere if you wish to spam.
6. You may advertise craft fairs based in the UK. The fair must be recruiting crafters and not merely advertising it’s presence. A single thread in the craft fairs section is all that is allowed. (the adverts will be subject to moderation if it is felt that they are not relavent or fall foul of other forum rules.)
7. You may not advertise any product for sale. You can however show your latest creations in the my project section.

So I cannot create a thread for new stock ?

You can post images/links to images of anything new you make in the Craft Projects section here http://www.craftsforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=43 to share with everyone but it's against the rules to put prices or actively promote your stuff for sale on there.

Hope that helps, look forward to seeing your stuff :)

Hi Beads,
thankyou for that. It's really hard to stick to the forum rules but it's even harder when you see other people bending them :pc: .
One crafty person picked up my email address and sent me a buy this email. :mf: My silly fault for putting out there but I wanted to have a long chat with a different, very nice, craft forum member :p which I did.

(Really must sort out my signature. Now who's the nicest, kindest, most wonderfullest in the world, moderator to ask permission from? ;))

Ha ha. Make sure you pick a Mod that knows what they are talking about regarding technical computer details so that lets me out.

If you think someone is bending the rules. click the report post button Top right of each post then as mods, we'll take a look and see if it's ok or not.

Oh - I'd like to put my two website addresses on it to explain why I'm Annie and why I'm Anna.
www.anniethepedlar.com (http://www.anniethepedlar.com) is OK because I make that stuff but I don't know where I stand with www.littlechile.co.uk (http://www.littlechile.co.uk) . I'm selling on behalf of other crafters. I was wondering whether I could sweet talk a very nice, kind mod into letting me use it because it does have a section selling lace and braid which could be craft supplies.........????????????
Pretty please, beg and grovel.
AnnieAnna
(Actually I do make some of the little dolls on Little Chile - out of the braid and lace :))

What is the problem with mentioning other forums here? I am the member of rambling and cycling forums and wonder what would be the problem if I mentioned them. The though of encouraging people a country walking or cycing habit and getting into the fresh air. It is all a bit silly and overly officious and paranoid. How are we to spread the gospel of crafting of we are not allowed to mention other forums. As far as I can see you have no competitors that are likely to take members away.

It is very difficult sometimes to separate spam from genuine discussions is one reason and another is that we are here to promote crafts to people interested in crafts and whereas I applaud your sentiments about walking etc., and your enjoyment of it, that is the reason you contribute to that particular forum. As to your comments re silly, overly officious and paranoid how do you imagine we are able to keep this forum free from spam, bad language, dirt and dirty inuendos so it is suitable for people of any age to read?
