Apparently, Winter will be back with a vegence from Saturday night.....snow everywhere, worse in the north.

This is plastered on AOL's homepage, but their weather page says different weather for us, and BBC weather says differently again....

......so who do we believe?:sm:

It's funny how proffessional weather people always say different things. I think they do this just to cover all angles as one of them has to be right!

......Metcheck says 1.3cms of snow for our area on Monday; how do they know it'll be exactly 13mms?

Right! Where did I put that old sledge........

Didn't thnk it snowed in Glasgow it only ever seemed to rain when I lived there!

The west coast always got the snow, far more snow in Glasgow than we ever got in Aberdeenshire.

I can remember when we lived in Glasgow getting snow every Winter, then it would clear and the weather would become quite spring-like, but in April we'd get another lot of snow. That happened every Spring from about 1980 to 1987, when we moved.

Very weird!

So far, it's looking like clouds with sunny spells here in Somerset today, but the wind is howling around our house.....which doesn't bode well!

Yep have to admit we get a lot of rain in Glasgow but last summer was fantastic, the best we have had in I don't know how long. We get snow every winter but to varying degrees. We have had 1 day of snow so far and it ended up raining the next day and cleared it all away (thank god). It is supposed to be another good year this year - keeping my fingers and toes crossed for that.

It's blowing a gale here and we've had flurries of snow & sleet. If the wind gets any stronger, the fire is going to blow off the chimney, the noise is unbelievable!

....very windy here in South West. We've had sunshine & showers, but the showers have been heavy with sleet at times. And it's cold, really cold.

Time to light the coal fire methinks!

Well the snow has just arrived with us now. It's been hailing really bad most of the day and as i spend most of my time in the conservatory (thats were my computer is) i kept getting really annoyed when it was chucking it down and the noise of the hailstones hitting the plastic roof was unbearable that i had to leave the room.

Hope it doesn't snow much!

Well do you believe it, in Glasgow we have no snow. It has been blowing a gail all day and we have had light flurries of snow but nothing great. Really hope it stays like this - particularly as it's back to work tomorrow.

Been snowing on and off all day today mixed in with LOADS of hail/sleet. Anya kept running through shouting that it was too loud in the front room because the sleet was hitting the windows and that she couldn't hear her Indian ladies talking to her!! (Russian doll set painted as Indian ladies - just in case you were wondering!)

We never get any here and if we do it's turned to slush in minutes. I used to live up north where we got loads, i miss it!!
We have been promised snow flurrys tomorrow, humph heard that before..
Now high tides, they are another matter. Not keen on them. Want them to stay away....

....in Winter. And I really miss Scotland for that. When we moved we left our sledges and snow shovel in the garage for the new people. My kids were gutted.

But at this time of the year, when the daffies are out, and the trees have blossom, and everyone's looking forward to warmer longer days, snow is a no-no.

The rain has stopped here, but the temps have plummeted with the darkness. It's freezing - brass monkey weather.

Must get Himself to go check the pond before bedtime, although the water is constantly moving because of the pump. But better safe than sorry etc etc etc.

Ah lovely snow...

well we had four little additions added to our family today.... chickens!

My wife has wanted them for ages. So today we got them, lovely little coop and a run!!

Then an hour after they were setled in on came the snow.

Now we live at the top of a beautiful hill, but we get a lot of wind and if there is any chance of snow - we get it!!!

Just as well we like it!! But my wife is so worried about her new little brood!!

We've just been out to check on them, and they seem fine!!!

Probably be snowed in tomorrow though!! Cars get stuck on the hill and abandoned which blocks us off from the rest of the world for a day or so!!

We even have a little provisions box just in case it gets really bad.

And none of you say what I know you are all thinking..... if it gets really bad....eat the chickens!! :o

Will let you know if we are snowed in, one of you might have to bring us a butty!

Anya is very chuffed that the snow is still here - she gets to go up to nursery in her wellies! It will probably all melt soon though cos there is lots of blue sky here.

And again in Glasgow no snow YIPPEE!! Wakened up to lovely sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely brass monkeys though - feel like my fingers are ready to fall off. A nice cup of coffee will soon sort that out!!!

The kids are disappointed though - poor souls!!!

But is is raining, on & off, and the frreezing wind is coming straight up the Bristol Channel.....I can see nasty weather fronts moving in, but they might just miss us, fingers crossed.

Knew it was cold last night - the moggies abandoned their chairs & nests and jostled for space at the end of our bed. This caused Himself to start chuntering and muttering swear words...being a big tall chap, he keeps his legs origamied down at the bottom of the bed. I don't know who won in the end, I fell asleep under a furry purry blanket.

Hope those chooks are ok, and ICG didn't need sandbags....

Look! They had fresh snow last night ...*sigh*

http://www.wengen.com/cam.html

The wind has changed direction here in the south west, it was a westerly, the NW, now it's coming straight from the north. The ground is dry too, so if we should get some snow, it's cold enough to settle.

I'll believe it when it happens....

Hi everyone,

we had a blizzard last night up here!!! Then some rain came through the night so we didn't get snowed in. Snow is melting now. It's a nice bright wintery day! Beautiful!

The chooks were fine, Clare coaxed then in to thier little run this morning so we got a good look at them. Just got some latches so we can lock the tops to keep Mr fox out!

We were out last night in the garden with Lilly (our dog). She goes absolutely crazy in the snow, she loves it. I have included a picture for you.

I'd half dozed off on the sofa when suddenly Chris started shutting down the puter. 'I think I saw lightening' he said. Before I could ask whether he knew where he'd left his marbles, all hell broke loose, or it seemed like it!

It was the beginning of a belter of a squally storm. Started with lightening, then thunder, then sleet, then hail, then snow...with extra wind!

So if Chris says he's seen lightening, take cover!

On my cycle home yesterday I had to battle hail stones (which were very painful!) and then thunder and lightening - scarey! They have just said on the weather that we ar in for more snow too! Not sure tha snow is good for craft fairs - can we please all wish for brillient sunshine and warm temperatures!!??
