Years ago, when I was little...so about 33 years ago, my parents used to take us to a lovely pub in Cotton End, where there was a garden. A bottle of coke with a straw & a packet of Walkers...what a treat!

We lived at Shortstown, my Dad was RAF.

Oh my God!! I had exactly the same about 20 years ago.Coke form a bottle, with a straw and plain walkers was indeed a treat, those pub trips on a summer day when I was young are one of my happiest memories!

Those summer evenings, the light as I remember it, was always a peachy pink, and the air was warm. I can remember the noise of peple chatting and laughing, but no traffic noises, no sirens.

I know I was only 7 or so, but I do think it was quieter then. Life was slower paced and more relaxed. I used to wander for miles around the local countryside, which is something my children can't do these days. Sometimes, 'progess' isn't always good.

Great memories, Seahorse, great memories....:)

Coke and a Straw
I remember my brother and myself used to get left outside the Victoria Inn in Helensburgh with a packet of Salt and Shake and a bottle of juice and a straw whilst the parents had a ball in the pub!!! Em were the days!!!
