does/has anyone used any leaf infusions in soap?
im thinking of trying a scented geranium leaf or lemon verbena & infusing it in oil, but am wondering if its actualy going to end up smelling like intended or if it will go horribly wrong!

Infusions alone did not do much in my soap, smell-wise, but they look great on the label - a good selling/marketing point! It's something to consider! =)
Be sure to strain out every last bit of mushy botanical, as it can cause an ugly spot in the soap - ugly brown gooey spot. That is NOT a good selling point! =O

Leaf infusions don't tend to impart much smell of herb but they do impart colour. I make up a comfrey infusion which turns the soap sort of muddy green with an earthy smell.
That said vanilla infusions work really well on the scent front.

great ,thanks for the replys.
i'd hoped they might have added a bit more scent than you say they will.
will give it a go & see what sort of effect they have, ive decided that i dont actualy like fragrance oils as much as i thought i would so will go down the "natural" route from now on.
