Ive had that bridge feeling and many others like it.
Earlier today I got to the point were I was sat with folded arms leaning on the desk staring at the corner of my monitor thinking 'why am I here?'

What job do you do?

I make candles in my spare time but I work full time in the NHS for my sins. Wish I could make enough from the sale of my candles so that I can chuck the day job lol (I can but dream!!) :p :)

Oh how we all dream of that.

Are you a medical person or a office person in the NHS?
I thought that would be busy.
Im stuck in a cruddy independant computer company.I sit on my botty and answer calls, if we ever get any.
Id happily make things all day but my pay doesnt equal my imagination.Thank goodness for this forum.

Forgive my b*tchyness but the one thing I have learnt from working here is how not to run a business.Im a receptionist and I have better ideas then my seniors but lets not go there or il get angry, again.

So Lisa(and others)what steps need to be taken to make our dreams of 24-7 craft come true? How about I sabotage all sources of unnatural light, thus people will buy your candles?

:D

We either need to win the lottery or meet someone very very rich. Considering I am married with 2 kids already I don't see much chance of the later happening. So hopefully we can win the lottery tonight.

I'm an office person in the NHS. It is always busy but I get really fed up sometimes. I am so much work to do but I can't get myself notivated to do. I really like my job (honest Guvnor!!!), but I have been off so I feel pretty suicidal just now.

I know what you mean about the people who show you how not to run a business but I really wish someone would show me the correct way to make a million!!!

Il do my best but me and Him havnt been pals for quite some time.
Maybe while Im at it I could ask him for the right lottery numbers and to make my business go well, and to start to hate sweets and to make exercise less horrid...etc

What we all need is for some one to open a gallery and sell our stuff for us. :) I can create all day but trying to sell it gives me the creeps I just don't have the confidense.

Me neither goldy but the good thing about the internet is that you can avoid people which is half my problem gone(I know people are nice but Im shy).
Go for it, it could be the best thing youl ever do.

Right so to be successful we just need to meet someone rich, win the lottery, have god on our side and have someone open up a gallery for us to display our wares! That's not too much to ask is it? There must be someone out there that can help lol :o

I feel much better now knowing there are other people out there who think like me. I would love more than anything to sell craft making stuff but I wouldnt know where to begin and I am much too shy to find out. m Maybe one day I will actually find out how this internet selling works!

It can still get boring at home crafting because you HAVE to because you've got orders coming in. I know that sounds a bit daft but sometimes the thought of making more bunting just makes me groan. I've got so many ideas in my head that just aren't getting made because I'm neing dictated to by my orders. Besides which, I've had the telly on this morning in the background and "Escape to the Country" was on, where the couple had £850,000 to spend on a house. It was really depressing. They got to look at lovely houses with 13.5 acres, lakes, woods, swimming pools, out-houses ... you name it. And they were so lovely and jolly. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I think as makers/artists we have to resign oursleves to the fact that most of us will never make millions! But at least we are doing what we love!

At the moment I am working fulltime in an office- in a job that turns my brain mushy.

I would love to set up a gallery/shop which I could sell my stuff and other peoples jewellery in. Have no idea how to start though!!

Boy do I know what you all mean!!!! I long to have the dream job of painting and writing.... I've started organising my own fairs but that can feel pretty hard work - people say they want to book and then they don't. I've really had to swallow my pride and chase lots of potential crafters recently - oh dear... i must seem so desperate. And yes... people wouldn't think so but I am really shy myself!

Ugh...and now I have to get myself stuck into a mundane job as well. :nopity:Just given up one hellish day job and been busy crafting, but now need something 'proper' to fund daft things like food, and fuel, and air for my tyres!

It's lovely to meet crafty people :)
