 My pasta machine has just broken

I've got today off work, so had decided to make loads and loads of new clay designs, and my new pasta machine (which OH bought me for xmas) has just broken!!

I've been careful not to put too think sheets of clay through, and have been treating it quite gently (although it's had loads of use already), but the rollers seem a bit wonky and aren't rolling the clay smoothly, it's thik in one bit and thin in another.

GRRRR - looks like I'll have to buy another - can anyone recommend a good brand of pasta machine, this one was admittedly a fairly 'budget' one;)

:( Sorry about your pasta machine. I personally like the Atlas pasta machine, but then again, I haven't tried any other brands.

Disaster!! I must admit I'm really heavy handed so I decided to buy a relatively expensive make. I got a imperia machine which takes all the knocks I give it.

It sounds like one of the rollers has just come out of alignment (or was not properly aligned when you got it, I mean and has just worked loose)

I expect it might be worth taking apart and just seeing if you can reassemble it again. You shouldn't have to of course, but it is an option.

This site might help http://desiredcreations.com/howTo_TLAdvPQueenMaint.htm

There are other tutorials there too about pasta machines that could be useful.

you betta believe it!

Pasta machines are great for polymer clay work.

You can use them to help you mix colours and generally get the clay kneaded and ready for use.

Of course, they also roll flat sheets in different thicknesses - something used in many claying techniques and projects.

And you can do fantastic colour blends with them too - to make a sheet of gradated clay that blends seamless from one colour to the next.

To be honest, I can't think why anyone would want to use one of these glorious machines for pasta really :sm:
