Does anyone on here have a blog? I have one on my website but I'm looking to change it to a 'proper' blog site like blogger, wordpress etc. Does anyone have any advice on which ones are best/which ones to avoid?
Thanks
Lynsey

Hi Lynsey
I have a blog and it's through Blogger, it's free and is really easy to use. I haven't had any experience with any other blogging systems so I can't give you any further advice but this can be a start!
Good luck with choosing whats best for you.

Thanks Anice,
I'm just looking through all the blogs that I like to read and seeing which ones I like the look of - well thats my excuse for reading through them all anyway!!

Mine is through wordpress. There are lots of templates to choose from if you want to make things easier (which suits me down to the ground!), I found it quite straignt forward to set up and very easy to mainain and update. You can have a look at my site to get an idea, but there are lots of different ones to choose from!

I was interested in setting up a blog too but I don't have a clue how I go about it or how easy it would be to integrate it into the web site. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to know!:D

Short foe weblog - basically an online diary that everyone can see. Have a look at mine for some idea although mine doesn't have nearly enough pictures on it! Heres another couple of good ones so you can see what they should look like.

Hi, i use blogger too and am relatively new to it. I am still discovering what I can do with it but have found it easy to use so far. I am also really enjoying updating it, and of course reading lots of other blogs - once you get started reading them you just can't stop.....

Blogger is really easy to use and I like the variety of templates that you can get. It's all really self explanatory too - good for a technophobe like me!

I have just started two blogs one on Blogger which is very simple to set up and there are very smart templates to use. It seems quite simple. I have also set up on Squido. This is also simple to set up, but I get the feeling there is more to it than I know. I am in no way an expert.
I would appreciate any comments if anyone out there is more expert than me.
Thank you

You can get free web hosting through byethost.com. You can install wordpress or another management system to make all of your posts. Hope this helps.

I've got a blog, and it's powered through Blogger. Like Anice says it's easy and free. I post card making instructions on the blog and I have finally worked out how to link other people to my blog site. it was a dreadful process of mistakes on my part, but a nice person on a forum helped, thank God.
I hope that you geone and that you make it nice and colourful. the ones with no pictures are not always interesting.

I use blogger too ! I've found it really easy to use, but a bit limited on the templates. I've found some really good looking blogs on typepad, but I understand you have to pay for typepad, and I'm sorry, but that's just not something that I'm prepared to do (not that I'm tight or anything !!) :D

Haha well we thought the same couldn't decide between typepad and blogger (had one on both at one point!) in the end we plumped for typepad it is something teeny like £5 a month and it mean we could design the blog in the same style as our site so we went for it - i think it depends on what you are looking for personally.

OMG Buttonberry - your blog is looks GORGEOUS !!! That's it !! I've decided - there are far to many good looking blogs on tyepad for me NOT to change !!! I tell you who else has a lovely looking blog www.talesfrompixiewood.typepad.com (http://www.talesfrompixiewood.typepad.com)
Actually - I've just checked it again from the link and she's changed it !!! It doesn't look half as good now - it used to have a pale green background and looked really effective. I'll have to let her know !!
I'm on blogger. The good side if you need traffic this is that google regularly searches your posts and people often get linked to my blog through google.

Normally, I would have deleted this post, but his website is really interesting and crafty. Takes a long time to load, but it's worth a look. ;)

i've got my home-educating blog using Blogger, and my "business" blog on wordpress.
Both I find easy to use, and both are free;)
