Hi All,
Does anyone know where I can get plastic boxes to display my candles in. I use cello bags just now to display them but transporting them to and fro to craft fairs they get knocked about a bit. Thought clear plastic boxes would be better but only places I have seen them you need to order them by the thousands?
Thanks to you all  :)

Did you find what you were looking for Lisa?
I have a question.
If I put my items in a small decorative box(with cotton in it)then into a padded envelope(white not brown)would that be seen as acceptable packaging?

Hi,
Yep Bag n boxman had tubes that can be cut to length so my candles wont get bashed.
No problem with your items being in a box and then put in a jiffy bag. That is what I do when I am sending out my candles. I package the actual candle up nice then wrap the whole lot in bubble wrap and put in a jiffy bag. Doesn't matter how the packaging that is being sent looks just as long as their item is in good condition when it arrives.
Hope this is what you need.
All the best.

I keep thinking back to my one and only trip to a certain underwear shop, when i made a purchase they had a posh bag, wrapped the goods in tissue paper then sprinkled these smelly plastic things in the bag!!!!!
A bit OTT in my opinion.
I thought maybe thats what people expect nowadays so thought Id check that jiffy bags are still acceptable in the world of postage!

Jiffy bags are an essential in the world of posting. I don't know what they do at the sorting office but I think they must tap dance on the parcels sometimes the state I get things.
I think it is better to be safe than sorry, who cares how lovely your item was wrapped up if it ends up smashed like a dogs dinner when they get it!:o

Have you tried the Royal Mail website. They do the jiffy bags in various sizes. Or what about Viking direct I think they do them too.
All the best.

Ask on freecycle for used ones then put in your add that you use recycled packaging thus saving space on landfill. good selling point with the greenys. ;) :D

I heard about that this morning but about supermarket bags filling landfills.Im proud to say I dont throw mine. The cupboard under the sink is a resting place for them and they fall out whenever I go in there.

The trusty pound shop does jiffy bags - thats where I get mine from anyway!

Euroffice have good prices on this kind of thing too - might be worth a look.
I always save my jiffies in the hope of using them again, but I hardly ever do because when it comes to sending to customers. I'd rather the bag attempted to look professional - ie. just one trip through the post.
So now I have a huge pile of used ones becuase I feel bad about putting them in land fill - I guess if anyone wants to make me an offer??

I have used Viking Direct for my jiffy bags and was delighted with them - I also bought some on ebay and was equally delighted.
What CAN'T you buy on ebay these days..... I love it!!

I know e-bay can be a dream come true sometimes. My kids wanted Heelies for their Christmas which is fine, but my son who is 14 and wears an adult size 10 (or a pair of canoes as I call them) wanted them and to get adult heelies cost a fortune. I ended up getting them on e-bay and were about £30 cheaper than what I would have paid in the shops.

..........does anyone remember Rowan Atkinson as the sales assistant in 'Love Actually' packing the necklace or whatever it was, in tons of tissue, rosebuds, lavender and swathes of ribbon, deliberately taking his time when Alan Rickman was in a hurry? I love that film...
I always reuse my jiffy bags. A good place for bubble wrap is the fruit boxes in your local supermarket...just help yourself, the stores don't mind!
The other thing I use for lightweight packing is balled up plastic bags. If anyone says anything, you just make point about recycling and say that you are doing your bit for the planet....!

I get loads of bubble wrap from my local supermarket too - and you get the faint whiff of tropical banana's when you open your package!

Don't the banana packaging wiff a bit though. I don't like the smell of the banana's in Asda.
Has anybody used the Quavers (you know those polystyrene things that looks like quavers). I have a few glass candles that I sell and I wrap thim in bubble wrap but wondered if the quaver things would be easier :)

I would still wrap the item in bubble wrap and then use the quaver things around that - if that makes sense!

At work we sometimes get these 'pillows of air' is the only way I can describe them. They are great, just like cushions.

Anybody any ideas where you get the quavers of the air bubbles. I don't need to buy by the ton right enough just a small supply would do me fine!!

...those polystyrene shapes? Try eBay or if you've got one, an office supply place like Staples.
My cats love those darn things, if I get any in a box they chase them everywhere and make huge mess! Good fun to watch them though..

Hi all
I have VERY large bags of packing chips that I use for packaging my candles, hubby gets them from a bloke at work.
I can pack some of it into small bags and post them out to anyone that's interested, for a small fee :)
PM me or email me and let me know what sort of quantity you would want and I can let you know a price.
Thanks
