I am having problems finding a reasonably priced pack of assorted fabric pens (the sort u can iron to set the colour) with very fine nibs (0.5 to 0.3mm nibs). I am painting doll faces and u can find plenty of examples of the broader nib pens (not brush type) but can't seem to find any in the UK at a reasonable price or otherwise lol. I have found some on ebay.uk that would be imported from the US so the postage cost is quite high. I am just starting a new hobby so want to keep start up costs to a minimum but at the moment it looks like the only choice is buying two or three fine nib pens and filling in the colours with broader nib pens of a different brand, and hoping the final colour match works (for example the eye consists of three shades of green, white, brown and possibly black).
I am also having problems finding 'oil pencils' here in the UK at all. I can see they exist in the US for sale.., but not here. All I can find is crayons and they seem to often be wax based??????? Again, they need to be fine pointed.., not blunt.., for doll face painting. I can use acrylics with an addin to make the paint flexible for use on fabrics but would rather not if I can avoid it as will only be using small amounts at a time.
Any idea's anyone?
