Ive had long hair for the most of my life, its kind of like a security blanket.
But Im very tempted to get it cut like Posh Spice, long at the front and short at the back, so its kind of a compromise.

Earlier I went to phone ot make an appointment but my boss turned up so I couldnt.
Now I feel im losing my bottle.

Should I snip it all off?

A new look to go with your new found jewellery making fame! go for it!!

I have really really short hair (a grade 3 with a whispy fringe) It is very cold in winter but it gives great definition to my neck area for showing off my jewellery.... not to mention that it is so easy to care for!

My family think Im mad and my mother thoroughly disapproves and the three boys in my house have longer hair then me!!

Hehe, dont think Im brave enough to go that short!!
But I actually feel ok with it which is odd for me and I feel Im changing so a new haircut would be appropriate.
Just wish my bosses would leave so I at least have a choice to make the call.

No you dont! Pick up that phone and call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must be the week for it cos I got my hair chopped yesterday. Had to go to a new hairdressers, my old one moved away last year and I'd been putting it off for nearly a year cos I was scared I'd get a rubbish one - luckily she was pretty good but blinking expensive :o

Talking of expense, Ive managed to pay around £25 per snip over recent years, Im dreading being stuck with a huge bill for a new hairdo.

Having also had long hair for most of my life (apart from one VERY short episode that we wont go into) over the past year I've been gradually getting it cut shorter and shorter. In November I got a graduated bob (like what you want Seahorse) and I have to say, it's the best cut I've had for years. Going tomorrow to get it cut again, as it's grown about 2.5 inches since I had it done.

Just make sure you trust your hairdresser, and I'm sure you'll love it!!

I had it cut shortish(chin length) a few years back but didnt look anything like the pic, had a couple of nice comments tho.

I think Posh's doo is a bit of a shorter Makepeace(from Dempsey and Makepeace, that will only make sense of you are 30+ years old.Its a mid 80's police drama)which Ive been a fan off for the last 20+ years

The hairdresser ive had for the last couple of years is the nicest lady thats ever cut my hair, she actually listens to me!.I can remember a couple Ive been to in the past who couldnt give a flying plop about my hair, which was horrid!
So i totally trust her ,and, in fact, she has the same hair doo!!

Forgot to say, my mums gona love it, she hates me having long hair and is constantly bugging me to get it cut.
I have decided to get it done in my own time so now is the time.
Should be good for summer too so I wont have to try to make it look good in a pony tail.

.....mine consist of me spotting split ends and snipping them in the bud with my finepoint scissors, or if I'm feeling really brave, I get Himself to go straight across the length with my dressmaking shears. Even then I won't let him cut more than 2" off.....

I did go to the hairdressers last November, cos it was a freebie. The girl cut some layers into the sides of my hair, but I've yet to find them.......she did do a lovely job of softening my fringe though, I'll give her that.

Not long til the hair cut!!!
I have stupidly long hair but I'm thinking about having it permed as I have always wanted curly hair - scared of it going terribly wrong though! I go through phases of having it cut and not liking it so I end up moaning to hubby!

Ironically as Ive decided to cut it all off Im actually thinking my long hair is quite nice and I want to keep it!!!!
But Im sure thatl ware off.
Im ok with the hair change in my head, if yuo dont try these things youll never know, same with perming it, give it a go.My perming stories are horrific but it was done by someone who did old ladies hair, not fashion hair.

Just go for it.

I had mine done at the weekend.
Trying to grow it but I had the layers cut short. I have kept in blonde (naturally of course) but I have purple panels in it and a purple fringe!

Had my hair resnipped at the weekend.

What really peas me off is this.

Whenever I phone up to book an appointment I say 'wash cut and dry please' as that what I want and I dont know the official term for it,yet for the second time the hairdresser wasnt going to dry it!!!
I said ' I did ask for it to be dried when I booked'.

Why would anyone not want it dried??!Fair enough if your not going anywhere afterwards.
I had it dried by a junior in the end, it took forever and i was tempted to say 'its ok, it doesnt have to be perfect just not sopping wet'.Only to find when paying for it that it cost £15 just to have it dried!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
£39 altogether.
Think next time il get it done at the end of the day and not get it dried professionally.

I've never been to a haidresser where they haven't dried my hair. I don't think they even have a price for just a cut. £15 to get your hair dried by a junior is ridiculous.

My cut and blow dry costs £25. My hairdresser dries it herself, and she usually takes about an hour all in, and makes sure I'm happy with it before she stops.

I have NEVER, in all my 37 years heard of anything so ridiculous! I know you can ask for a "wet-cut" when you book. That means they either wash or spray your hair, cut it and then leave it and they're usually cheaper. I always ask for a "wash, cut and blow-dry" when I book, and that's what I got - the stylist usually does the whole lot, or maybe a junior does the washing, but that's all.

I should show your appreciation with your feet and go somewhere else next time!

I would do but have to say they are the only hairdressers thats taken an actual interest in my hair and what I want, other places have been awful.
The ladies really nice and I actually know her name.

I had a look at their price list that I took with me.
I could have got a rough dry for £4.50!!!!

Yep,I heard of wet cuts too, maybe I was misheard when I booked. It just really annoys me as it happened before and now everytime i go I reckon they are going to do it again and it stresses me out whil Im suppsed to be sit there being pampered.

l have to be very clear next time.

You should look on the price list to see what a blowdry usually costs.
I would certainly not expect to pay full price for a junior to blowdry it.
The last couple of times, i've gone to a 'model night' when the juniors practise, you can still say what you want and the boss does hover over them and point them in the right direction, i got mine into a bob last time, and i was chuffed with it...
And it was FREE!!!!
Otherwise the place i was going to is 29.50 for a cut and blowdry.. not bad for an hours work is it!!!
Maybe we are all in the wrong job...

Exactly what I was thinking as I changed the £30 I had ready in my hand, to £40 to cover the charge.

I always ask for a "cut and blow dry" and that costs me £25. I can't believe you were charged £15 for the dry part? Do you think you were mis-charged?

OMG! Total outrage! i would have been fuming :o i thought they couldn't let you go out in the street with dripping wet hair, it is courtesy to at least rough dry for free surely if they made it all wet!!

<mini rant start>
Why does that always happen? You end up with the junior and still pay full whack, i had mine done the other day and i had the 'help' dry mine as my hairdresser was busy with another colour. I told her it wsas ok just to dry it so that i didn't catch my death but she was insistant, to the extent that she was determined to 'fluff'. My head still hurts today as she completely burnt my head from holding the drier too close! It looked awful too and we both knew it!<and breathe.. mini rant end!>
