Hiya!
Can someone please explain why I would want to buy multi-coloured paper? I need some tracing paper to transfer patterns and it looks like I can buy packs with coloured sheets.... and I've got no idea why I'd want to! :)

Because it looks pretty? :D
Is it actual pattern paper or just regulat tissue paper?

It is probably so you can colour code different parts of the pattern so for instance if you have a front and back bodice section that look similar but are different you could colour code them to distinguish between them. Or of course you could just label each piece traditionally like the big companies do! ;) Just out of curiousity what are you making?

I use greaseproof paper. I do use different coloured pens if I'm doing loads of garments at once, then I know which bit belongs to which outfit. Could that be why?
As I can't go anywhere without a good moan - why have my Spa not got any greaseproof paper in and why have Morrisons made their's so dark you can't see through it :mf:.

I use interfacing for patterns I want to use a lot of times. It lasts more or less forever.
Dunno about the coloured paper though. The other suggestions sound sensible.

I bought the latest Burda pattern magazine and there are loads of things in there - but I'll be starting with a cape I think... right after the mustard-yellow overcoat! :)
Thanks for your help :)

I used to get coloured carbon paper to transfer pattern markings with a tracing wheel. Could it be that?

I was thinking of making some capes to sell next year, I could really do with one at the moment, my coat sleeves won't fit over my cast and when I took my son to the docs today it was absolutely freezing!!
