Now, I don't "do" woodwork (my one attempt had my cousin, who was teaching me, swearing to ban from his garage for the rest of forever...), but as part of my graduate collection for university, I am making a collection of pens. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend good "blanks" for pens, and a good supplier too? I'll be honest, I haven't a clue what I'm buying - probably not the best thing to be admitting, but hey, there you go. As a metalsmith, the one's I've made previously have had mechanisms that have been designed and made by me, but I'm looking at using some other materials for my next few, so something designed for the purpose would be handy research if nothing else...

I do make the odd batch of pens generally out of wood, but I buy in the internals.
Excellent source of info is the International Penturners (http://www.penturners.org/) site. There is a British equivilent just started up, but can't think of the web address at the moment. Good luck with your research.
PS - Found it UK Penturners (http://ukpenkits.com/catalog/forums/) .
