Umm I don't have a craft site at the moment but I do have 4 others with 'off topic' links pages. I also have 2 others in the pipeline one of which is a craft site.

I can link you, it may not help your google ranking though!...

People could use the logo on the o=top left of the forum to link to you if they didn't want to just have a url hanging around.

It will vary depending what software you are using to edit the site. Generally speaking - you need to highlight the text, right click and click insert hyperlink or insert link. Then it will ask you what you want the text to read and where you want it to link to (the web address)

Hope this helps!!

Babushka is an old Russian grandmother, Babushka.

There's a tale told by the babushka of the Sound of the Stars:

In Siberia, in deepest winter upon a moonlight sky, one can breathe out, and it's that cold, the condensation of your breathe freezes instantaneously and crystallizes; then in the silence of Siberia, the crystalline breath tingles, crackles and falls to the frozen earth below to echo the sound of the stars.

In reply to the previous post:

I asked for a non craft forum, which I believe this is?

I posted a thought on stars and Siberia, which was not offensive, and posted in all innocence.

If you wish to ban a poster for that, then do so, and do not hesitate in you decision.

You have a forum though, and in true democratic fashion, let them decide whether to ban my innocent, and yet risque posts.

For me personally? I'm really not bothered what you decide, but would be interested what the genuine posters decide, and not some easily offended mods.

Thanks.

auntynet
07-07-2008, 11:25 PM
I'm one of the genuine posters and I personally think your a bit bonkers! In fact we're all genuine posters cos the not so genuine ones aren't allowed to stick around very long.

Whilst I agree you've not been offensive and have to admit you can be quite amusing at times (and I suspect Peter thinks that too seeing as you've lasted this long) I just wonder why you find it amusing to play around on a craft site if you're not into crafts:confused:

My DH wants to know if you play the banjo?

Circle
07-07-2008, 11:41 PM
Stating I'm '..bonkers!' is insulting, is it not? I haven't insulted you, and yet you level insult at me.

That's unfortunate, and demonstrates a lack of debate.

This is a 'Non crafts related..' thread, but hopefully not a thread where one is abused.

knitnstitchsue
07-07-2008, 11:48 PM
It may be a 'Non crafts related..' thread, but it's still a crafts forum.

You must admit some of your post have been a bit out of the ordinary and to hang around on a "craft forum" being it on a none related craft thread or not is a little strange.

auntynet
07-07-2008, 11:50 PM
Not intended as an insult - please accept my apologies. but now who's being touchy?

To reply - yes this is a "non crafts related" thread but its one on a craft forum specifically for crafters. And it is very democratic - you can say what you like as long as its clean ...

and as long as Peter agress with you. :sm:

To be honest I think some of you have 'issues' to address, and therefore, I leave you to it.

That's my opinion. Take it or leave it. I'll leave you to 'your' forum, and won't post anymore.

Babushka
08-07-2008, 11:27 AM
I chose the name Babushka as a trading name as it reminds me of a granny with lots of trinkets and gifts, etc. she passes on to her grand children. So thought it's quite fitting, plus it's an usual name which I think & hope people will remember as it stands out. It is also believed that Babushka is the Russian equivalent of Father Christmas (although DH told me this so not sure how true it is). So all relates to gifts, being given things, etc.

It all makes sense in my head anyway.

Circle
08-07-2008, 03:22 PM
With the exception of Babushka, it's amusing to see how positively childish others are on here. No doubt you're all adult, but I would serious question whether you can demonstrate adult conduct.

Your immature responses did make me laugh though, so I assume the desired effect was achieved.

Hi Peter,
I'm a total newbie to this site, just joined today so I'm browsing.
Everyone seams really nice and friendly, and I've even had a bit of banter with Susan, but how nasty can some people be? I'm referring to circle, by the sound of him/her I think "get a life springs to mind", and as for everyone being "cliquey" and childish, dose'nt friendship and laughter go hand in hand!! Anyway back to the question of what do you think to the site, I THINK IT'S FAB, and with the welcome messages that I've received
I feel very comfortable and quite at home, so "cliquey and childish or not, I'll be around for quite a while.
Regards

I love this forum because of all of the talented people that I can find here. I'm a junior member, not a junior crafter (even thought my "production" is sadly limited since my job occupies the major part of my life, but I love it) and I appreciate to see what other crafters are able to do with some tools and a lot of ideas !

What is more, I remember that in my introductions here, I wrote that I needed to improve my english because I can't find opportunities to pratice here, in France. So this is why I came here. That is a double good reason to love this forum ! :p

I know this thread is too old to post comments .. but can't help myself .. to post one..
The best thing i like about this forum is... here there are some aspiring,, and talented people.. who are really creating some great jewelries!!!
Everyday i visit this forum .. and see people uploading their jewelries pic , which they have designed!!!....
Love this forum!!:D

I agree with Cryst. To me the best is that everyone is so willing to share knowledge and be inpiring to those of us starting out.

Thank you everyone
