Does anyone know where I could get hold of some really small wooden rings / hoops? Kind of like curtain rings but much smaller and thinner!

They'd have to be approximately 20mm and have a thickness of only 2 or 3mm.

It's just for an idea I have at the moment - just wondering if such things exist? My searching hasn't bought up anything yet :)

Thanks, Sarah

What did you want them for? Wooden rings thast thin (2 - 3mm) are going to be very fragile.

I wanted to make a little wooden charm with some small pre-cut wooden cubes and beads I found. I was hoping to be able to cut some rings in half to make arms to connect the wooden shapes up - but thinking about it you're totally right and they would be ridiculously fragile (not to mention fiddly)
Back to the drawing board I reckon, probably best if I use jewellery wire or re-think the design a bit...

The sort of size you are talking about how about wooden cocktail sticks. They are cut to have the grain going along them so they have a good inherent strength and may be something that you can adapt to suit. Stained or painted they may be suitable?

Just had a thought after reading this. Have you thought of using basket cane if you want bent wood shapes?

Soak the cane then bend around a former while it dries. The cane is fairly strong stuff, and comes in small sizes.

Bet your glad you didn't take that one Pete. Could just see you standing there turning hundreds of cocktail sticks.:o;)

Oh I would have given him a few thousand to make at least - don't need that many, would have just been for my amusement :)

Yeah I did think of basket cane actually, it's definitely something to keep in mind too. I only ever did basket weaving once at school, but I can remember it being pretty easy to cut as well so that would be a bonus. Cheers, for the suggestion.

Is it 20mm in diameter you are looking for
