A group of scrapbookers get together and, erm, scrapbook.

Or make other stuff.

Often organised on a regular basis at a set venue or shop.

Thats a new one on me I would have called them a scrap..:D

a crop to me is when you chop a detail out of a whole picture. say when you photograph something but have lots of background and you want to enlarge the subject you crop it out of the picture.

Hope that made sense.;)

It's also the name of a chicken's stomach - but I can't think that would come under the heading of 'craft' (unless you're Damien Hurst!)

Thanks mizgeorge, I see now, is this usually a paid for thing then? or just people with a similar hobby meeting up for free? reason I ask is that dawn bibby on qvc said the other day "This product would be really great if you are going to a crop" and i thought what the hell is one of those....hee hee

we do a monthly crop, basically a few of us get together and do whatever craft we choose, some scrapbook, some make cards, some bring all their goodies and sit chatting all day!

Its a day out with friends, you can craft, chat and generally learn new things from each other!

I teach a technique each month at ours, and we set each other small challenges. We each pay £5 for the whole day and that covers room hire, refreshments and a raffle prize too!

Apparently it used to be normal to cut up, or crop, photos before arranging them on a scrapbook layout (or page). "Crop" became scrapbooking shorthand for the sort of event explained above. HTH.
