How about a swap shop?

Hi all.
Don't know if this has been suggested before....how about a swap shop forum?
I personally (and I'm sure lots of you do too...) have lots of bits and pieces lying around that I never got the chance to use, don't know what to do with or will never use.
What if there was a place we could list these things and make swaps for something we fancy that another member has?
Don't know about the logistics of this, it would have to be a straight swap with no actual money changing hands I suppose.
Obviously not high priced things, I'm talking about bags of beads/findings etc, or whatever other crafters use (card stock, stickers etc).

Any ideas? Perhaps it's been suggested before?

Hi there I did suggest it once before but the mods were not keen, I think there may be an issue regarding who would oversee the swops. As we have seen this week things can get out of hand here sometimes and as it is an open forum there is no guarantee you won't get ripped off by someone with the 'milk of human kindness' missing from their veins. Course I could be wrong though, maybe the mods will love the idea now!

No we haven't got one and don't intend to in near future.

Just managing secret santa by BBD is hard enough let alone doing it all day everyday..

People do swaps but via pm which is best...

Bearing in mind the acceptance of members to the idea and the mods not having the time to control would we be stepping on toes if we set one up somewhere else?

Why not just do swaps as they do on Etsy, someone starts a Trade thread in the forums and people just check out what is available. A running thread where someone says they have certain things for trade / swappping could work and then the actual deals done by PM.

Its a bit a of a legal issuse to with who what etc is liable along with the setup cost and restrictions we'd need to place don't seem worth it.


Selling/swapping/exchanging items is not what this forum is about hence we ask you do it via PM as we will get flooded with people here just to swap etc..
