I am trying to price some items to sell and wonder if anyone has approx costs of firing a kiln?

I'm not sure about glass kilns but I did work out how much it cost to fire my pottery kiln.
I fired to 1000 C and it took about 8 hours. I worked out that was a cost of £4 on the electric bill. Consequently, when I do shorter firings to lower temperatures, I just divide it by how long it took to get an approximation.

It depends on the kiln type and size.
My little annealing kiln costs only pennies to fire, but not all are as economical.

My Skutt Hotstart Pro (1.8kw) costs approx 25p per firing. (The figure quoted by the company I bought it from was 50p per firing, but I have a monitor plugged in to the socket, and it gives the lower figure).

Hi, My 9kw Nabertherm is approx £15 per firing... as has already been said it will depend on the kiln you use, and of course if the items you're pricing were the only items in the kiln at the time of firing.
