Hi everyone,

We are after some advice.

We make a sell and jewellery.

We have booked some space at the Essential Beauty and Body Show in April. We have a 2mx1m corner shell scheme but I don’t really know what to do with it.

You see we normally attend craft and gift fairs where they give you a 6ft table and that’s it. But I really don’t think that will be sufficient for the show.

Has anyone any advice how to layout our stand?

We are also a little worried about stock. They are expecting 6000 visitor so we are planning to buy some jewellery in but it will compliment our range. I hope that will be ok.

We are thinking of getting some postcards printed to give out and possibly some giveaway but that might be a little too expensive.

We might run a competition to collect data.

Any advice on the lay out or attend a show in general would be fab.

Thanks, Louise

Hi Louise

I normally do craft shows too, but I have seen a few larger displays that make use of any space around them to tell the customer why their products are different. I guess in your case that could be how you make the jewellery, the quality of the stones etc and lots of quotes from happy customers.

I use vistaprint for postcards, they can be made glossy and would make great show cards to give out to people. I attended a show in the summer where a body shop rep was holding a competition, she had a £50 prize and a clip board with a basic entry form which she handed to everyone that came near the stall - no one refused to enter! It's a great way to capture data.

Hope that helps

2m x 1m is really not a big space, 2 metres is 6ft 6" and when you get a shell scheme you will have to accomodate your own entry and exit space, having the corner position will help make that easier.

When I've had a 2m x 1m corner site to work with I usually have 2, 2m x 2ft tables in front of each other leaving just the bare minimum to stand behind...

Best thing to do is mark up your space on the floor and set up your table/s (not your full display, just tables) to best suit your needs, play about with sizes level etc and see what works for you.

Hope that helps

I am exhibiting at the NEC in Feb at Hobby,Craft and Stitch and they are very strict about what furniture etc you can have in your space (I have a 1m x 2m space as well!) and how it is laid out for health and safety etc.. Have you checked with the show organisers about what you can and can't do? Just so you don't spend money or time making decisions that you may have to change.
