our badges from a badge Hi can anybody give me advice. I want to make some metal badges or lapel pins. Until recently the club I belong to bought such things from a supplier of medals etc but they had to contract these things out but have now stopped doing this. They will supply the metal discs and I would like to know if could a) Buy the brooch or badge pins and to fit on the back and b) If I would be able to stick or solder them on?

I'm not even sure I've got the terminology right. I assume that badge pins are like the things that might be used for earings too - a pin with a clip which slides on. But are brooch pins the things that are like safety pins thta you find on the back of badges and brooches?

I know I could just go and get someone else to make them but then we'd have to pay for a new die and we'd have to have a larger number made than we can afford.

HI

I do a bit of soldering, my knowledge is limited tho.

Im sure brooch pins is the right name, you can get them from hobbycraft and most craft shops.Theres a make called 'crafty bits' which do them.

Ive just had a google and I believe the correct name is brooch back.HAve a look on www.impexcreativecrafts.co.uk under trimits jewellery.

Ive no doubt you could glue them on with some stong adhesive.

I think soldering will depend on the type of metal used.If you dont have the equipment to do soldering send me the bits and Il see what I can do.
