Hi I'm venturing into making glass pendants and bought a kit. I made my first pendant at the weekend and I'm so pleased with myself. Once I finish the kit I'd like to buy some more glass and I found a site Warm Glass as recommended on here. The problem is I don't know the correct terminology for what they call backing glass. Can anyone help? (or is it there and I've missed it completely?)

Thanks in advance

Hi
When you say backing glass I'm not sure what you mean, sorry, do you have a kiln that you make the pendents in?

Sorry I should have been more clear. I was given a microwave kiln which was supplied with backing glass and dichroic glass. I found the dichroic glass pieces on the Warm Glass site but wasn't sure what they called the "backing glass" is it just plain glass? Can you just make a pendant from 100% dichroic glass? Sorry for the questions but I'm a total newbie to this area of crafting.

Thanks for your help

Yes you can make a pendant from dichroic only, all depending on the look you want to achieve. :)
Some dichro is black backed and some clear. Bullseye glass is what you are calling backing glass and comes in a variety of colours - this colour wont matter however if you use black backed dichro on top.
These packs http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/Shop/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=636
are excellent cheap way of starting out and finding what you want to work with.
The people at Warmglass are really helpful too so give them a call!

I find the Tekta packs from Warm Glass useful for making pendants and it can be used as a base or a 'lid' for your piece. How are you enjoying your new hobby? :)
