what is etsy?

Is it somewhere/thing I should be doing or looking at?

I now have an ETSY shop.....cool!

This site looks fantastic! And it's aimed at buyers that appreciate the value and quality of handcrafted items...how cool is that?!!:D :D :D

Was it easy to set up? How much does it cost? Do you pay as soon as you set up the shop or do you only pay when you put stuff in for sale? I know you've only just set up a shop there but you might be able to help :)

...it was easy to set up. They only ask that you have a registered credit card...why I don't have. I just put in my visa electron card number and it worked!

I don't know when the charges are debited, presumeably when you list an item. But it's roughly 10p a listing, with upto 5 photos included, and listings are valid for four months. Buyers pay you through PayPal. I already have a business acc with PP.

So far, etsy is much better than ebay IMHO. And it's geared towards buyers who appreciate crafts so they are prepared to pay for your time & skills.

I haven't listed anything yet, I need better photos and the light has been too bad today. the etsy site is lovely to look at too.

I registered the other day, but I'm still working on my own site, so maybe I should have waited! :)

I'm seriously thinking of getting a shop too - haven't got anything to go in it yet but I think I might get one! The stuff on there is gorgeous!

I think crafters/artists need as much as possible. Etsy is much cheaper than eBay and it's aimed at the right platfom. Go for it....:D
